...it came to me BROKEN! This statue is undeniably stunning but also unbelievably FRAGILE. I opened what I perceived to be a very well-wrapped package only to find that the figurine had severed almost neatly in half! Even when I went to handle the remaining segments just to get a sense of how lovely an intact statue would be, the figurine STILL continued to shatter at points, almost disintegrating under my touch. To her credit, the seller has been a doll as far as filing the insurance claim goes, but I am STILL without the gorgeous rendering of Wonder Woman I had wanted. At this writing, I have just ordered the LAST available edition of this statue to appear in the Amazon.com marketplace. God, I hope THIS ONE gets here in one piece. The crystalline base and almost ethereal rendering of Diana rising from a multi-colored mist is both majestic and unique in its depiction of a serene and goddess-like Wonder Woman soaring in the heavens. At this point, her greatest challenge may be to make a safe landing on my mantle! --LOL-- I'll keep you guys posted... ;) UPDATE: On the morning of March 1, 2104, just hours after posting the first part of this review, the replacement model for this Tim Bruckner limited edition Wonder Woman statue arrived SAFELY at my door...PERFECTION! The slightly translucent resin-base really gives a surreal, flight-like feel to the piece, and the Wonder Woman figure herself is sculpted with a loveliness and classic beauty that feels like an OLD WORLD porcelain figurine and NOT something that is trendy, kitschy or too comic-booky...She is just so...MMMMMMMMAJESTIC! Yes my friends, I'm IN LOVE with an AMAZON--lol-- ;)I don't even have words for how pleased I am with this item. The very MOMENT I saw it, I knew I had to have it. But seeing the picture and reading the dimensions doesn't AT ALL prepare you for the majesty that is this piece of art. The delicate grace and quiet elegance are portrayed with ease on the sculpture. There is no doubt that this is a leisure flight, as Diana stated in many comics that she loves to do. The light colored, almost crystaline base is so beautiful that I cannot adequately describe it. It does actually look like crystal, and it captures the moment of Diana breaking through the clouds, most likely at sunrise or sunset. It is hollow beneath so that, as another reviewer mentioned, a light can be put in there. I put a pen light in mine, and it looked almost ethereally like clouds lit up by the sun... As I've said, and I'll say again, this sculpture is just too beautiful for words... If you like Wonder Woman and collect statues of her, then I STRONGLY suggest you get this while it is relatively inexpensive. There were only 2500 made, and like all of the other statues I have, they will rocket in value. The moment you see just the BOX, you will be overwhelmed... But just hold your breath until you get it open and see the thing for yourself. I will try to get some pictures taken and post them. Seriously, Wonder Woman collectors, buy this... I don't think you'll regret it. Sincerely, thanks for your time folks. R.A. McDowellThe statue is beautifully crafted and highly detailed. The cloud trailing behind is translucent and hollow to allow you to put a light source beneath it, making it one of the most stunning pieces I've seen since the Michael Turner Supergirl statue.
